Our story
Gynecological examinations and childbirth are intimate, vulnerable moments in a woman’s life. But the tools used in these moments often feel cold, outdated, and uncomfortable. At Induvita, we believe we can do better.
Gynecologist Stine Andreasen,CMO (left), and midwife Hege Hansen, CEO, founded Induvita in 2022.
With more than 20 years of combined clinical experience as a gynecologist and a midwife, we grew increasingly frustrated by how much of women’s health equipment was originally designed for other purposes – and not optimized for women’s needs.
This is why we, in 2022, founded Induvita – built on decades of clinical expertise and innovation and a beliefe that we can do better. Because a birth is not just a medical procedure; it’s one of life’s most defining experiences. And a gynecological proseadure Should not be frightening or more uncomfertable than it has to be. From our own experience, we know that better equipment can create a gentler start – and a better birth story.
Our mission is to make vaginal examinations and childbirth less painful, less risky, and less frightening – while improving outcomes and maintaining clinical precision.
With early support from our partners financially and professionally, we’ve been able to transform our frustration into purpose – and our purpose into products that truly make a difference.
Induvita is shaping the future of women’s health – do you want to join us?
Clinical needs
Birth initiation is common due to various medical challenges in pregnancy. In Norway alone, about 15,000 births are induced per year*. Due to the low risk and high efficiency, the preferred method of initiation is the use of a balloon catheter inserted through the cervix of the pregnant**.
Such initiation can lead to a prolonged birth and be challenging for the woman, both physically and emotionally. The equipment used for this today is usually a urinary catheter for men. The speculum used is the same as for all other women.
During the development of induction catheter and speculum, we saw the great need for a multifunctional simulator for training on gynecological examinations and procedures, but also for training on examination during childbirth. Such simulator training will increase competence for the best possible diagnostics and treatment.
For now, the portfolio consists of three products that have full independent value, but at the same time complement each other.
